CVPA COMP TEAMS

 

Competition Team Requirements

  1. Take one of each of the following classes a week: Tap, Jazz, Choreography Class (when dances are rehearsed).

  2. Take at least two Ballet classes a week.

  3. Take a Stretch and Strengthen for Dancers class each week.

  4. Take either a Stretch or a Pilates for Dancers class each week.

  5. Take at least one Contemporary Technique (if on a Contemporary Competition Team), Leaps & Turns, or Jazz Technique Class a week.

  6. Show a true dedication and desire to dance.

  7. Have good class attendance.

  8. Attend all Master Classes.

  9. Follow all studio rules.

  10. Be a responsible and reliable student.

  11. Demonstrate respect towards teachers and fellow students.

Expectations for Competition Team Members:

  1. All competition team members are expected to be at all competitions. We are stronger as a team. It is unfair to other team members to have to re-block.

  2. All competition team members are expected to have good class and rehearsal attendance.

  3. All competition fees are expected to be paid on time.

  4. All competition team members are expected to be ON TIME to rehearsals and competitions.

  5. All competition team members are expected to bring all required costumes and props to rehearsals and competitions as requested by the teacher or rehearsal director.

  6. All competition team members are expected to act professionally and have good sportsmanship when representing CVPA at competitive events. This includes posts on social media.

  7. All competition team members are to behave as role models for those around them, ESPECIALLY younger dancers.

  8. All competition team members shall treat fellow students, teachers, staff, and fellow competitors with respect at all times.

  9. All competition team members are to be supportive of each other. We are one team with the same goals.

  10. All competition team members are expected to come to classes and rehearsals with a positive attitude. 
     

    Above all, HAVE FUN! If we go in with the goal of learning, than we have won already.
