DRESS REHEARSAL

Dublin Unified School District Center for Performing Arts & Education

Dress rehearsal takes place at the theatre in costume and is mandatory for all students performing in the recital.

  • Arrive Early: Please arrive 15 minutes before your dancer’s first scheduled rehearsal, including Finale rehearsals. Dancers should arrive in full costume with hair done.
  • Venue: Dublin Unified School District Center for Performing Arts & Education
    Located at Dublin High School
    8151 Village Pkwy, Dublin, CA 94568
  • Parking: Free parking is available on-site. The main lot is in front of the venue, with an additional lot on the other side of campus if needed.

DRESS REHEARSAL INSTRUCTIONS

  • Check-In: Arrive at the theatre 15 minutes before your dancer’s first scheduled rehearsal, including Finale rehearsals. The time listed on the schedule is your dancer’s on-stage rehearsal time.

  • Costume & Hair: Dancers should arrive in full costume with hair done. Makeup is not required, and hair does not need to be curled for dress rehearsal.

  • Dressing Rooms: Dressing rooms will not be available before 6:00 PM, so please arrive in costume. If your dancer needs to change costumes before 6:00 PM, they may use the restrooms.

  • Finale Rehearsals: Dancers performing in the recital Finale must attend at least one Finale rehearsal. Check the schedule for each night’s rehearsal time.

  • Be Patient & Respect the Space: Dress rehearsal is also a technical rehearsal, so there may be times when we need to stop and work through lighting, sound, or other technical elements. If you need to have a conversation, please step outside so teachers and theatre technicians can communicate without distraction.

  • Valuables: Please leave jewelry, wallets, laptops, iPads, and other valuables at home.

  • Photos & Video: Photos and videos are welcome! Please limit social media clips to 20 seconds and focus on your own dancer to respect the privacy of others. Tag @castrovalleyperformingarts, #cvpadance, and/or #cvpafiredup!

  • No Live Streaming: Please do not live stream any portion of dress rehearsal or the recital.

  • Before Leaving: Check with your teacher before leaving to make sure your dancer is no longer needed onstage.

FOOD & DRINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE THEATRE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THANK YOU!

DRESS REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

Find your dancer’s on-stage rehearsal time for their dance. Then, note the Finale Rehearsal time scheduled for that same Dress Rehearsal Day. Dancers performing in the Finale should attend the Finale Rehearsal on the same day as their dance rehearsal.

FINALE REHEARSAL

  • Finale rehearsals take place each day of Dress Rehearsal and are highlighted in yellow on the schedule.

  • Students who are not in an Intro to Dance class must attend at least one Finale Rehearsal if they plan to perform in the Finale.

FINALE COSTUME = RECITAL T-SHIRT

  • All Dancers: Wear your CVPA recital T-shirt with black shorts, black leggings/jazz pants, or a black leotard with black or skin-tone tights.

  • Intro to Dance Students: Wear your recital T-shirt over your dance costume.

What do the Intro to Dance Students do during the finale?
Intro to Dance students will walk onstage and take their final bow at the end of the finale. We recommend all Intro to Dance students attend at least one rehearsal to practice this onstage.
